(…) On October 12, 2018, an exhibition opened at the Audio Visual Pavilion. Its title was After 10.12. At the time, I did not know what the title referred to, and even now I am not sure that I fully understand its meaning. The three figures involved—curator Konno Yuki and artists Eugene Jung and Kensuke Sugimoto—said that After 10.12 envisioned a “world after humans.” The exhibition ran for about ten days and ended as scheduled, and now nearly a year has passed (2019). What remain are fragmentary memories and images—it is already a story from a year ago. And yet, we are still living in the world of After 10.12.
Although the exhibition has ended, as if to recall it once more, a record has now emerged here. What kind of landscape will unfold? Will it resemble the scene we saw in the exhibition, or will it be something entirely different? The catalogue of the exhibition After 10.12 is now here / is about to be released. (…)
